Kewaunee recognized the need for a space that fosters collaboration and understanding among clients, employees, and investors. The design aimed to inspire visitors and enhance their experience from entry to exit. A key feature is the Wall of Excellence, which serves as a visual façade that welcomes individuals as they leave, creating a lasting impression.
The project was meticulously planned to achieve multiple goals simultaneously.. Each area was assigned dedicated engineers to ensure precision and expertise. Regular meetings three mandatory onsite and one online per week were held to maintain momentum and address challenges promptly.
An innovative Empty Room Concept was implemented to accommodate up to 12 participants, allowing for hands-on exploration of real-size simulated AR models. This design choice maximizes engagement while showcasing Kewaunee's extensive product range through interactive experiences, reinforcing the commitment to sustainable practices in interior design.
The main challenge was to design a multifunctional space that could effectively display Kewaunee’s large products within a limited area. The facility needed to support multiple purposes presentations, demonstrations, and workshops while offering a cohesive and inviting aesthetic. Using a design thinking approach, we created scaled-down miniatures of their larger products. This solution not only conserved space but also introduced a creative, futuristic appeal, enhancing the visitor experience.
The design team focused on maintaining geometry as a priority to ensure aesthetic integrity. This careful attention to detail allowed for the creation of a Floating Wall, where support systems are cleverly concealed, enhancing the abstract relationship between the wall and ceiling.
Additionally, the project required effective waste management strategies to minimize environmental impact. The design had to accommodate Kewaunee’s commitment to sustainability while ensuring an engaging user experience.
The Kewaunee Experience Center successfully merged innovative design with functionality and sustainability. The Wall of Excellence and the Floating Wall stand out as key elements that create a sophisticated and futuristic impression. The combination of blue, white, and gray was chosen to create a classy look while also giving a modern feel.
To address waste management, the design team implemented several strategies:
Regular communication among team members ensured the project remained on track, with up to three days allocated as a buffer to avoid false commitments. The frequent involvement of designers at every stage allowed for the creation of mockups before the main production, ensuring a seamless final outcome.
Overall, the Kewaunee Experience Center stands as a testament to the successful integration of advanced technology, effective design, and sustainable practices within a compact and multifunctional environment. This immersive experience center design not only showcases Kewaunee's capabilities but also sets a standard for future developments in the industry.
